As for the football seasons, it does pose an interesting question. What happened during the Olympics? There would need to be a haitus for a period of time to allow the pitch surfaces to recover to FIFA standards. The domestic football leagues/codes would have to re-arrange their schedule for one year. I can imagine they would not be happy about that.

Bearing in mind that June/July will be our winter there may be some FIFA provision to play the WC later in the year. There is not much wiggle room in the world club schedule.

We could also do a co-host with New Zealand, but I don’t think that’s a good option.
