To think after all the heart break we have had in the past with the do or die games in South America and Iran. we could be the first to get through. Please boys don’t let this one go to the bitter end.

Yeah if those results drop for us then we can qualify on Wednesday night (and I call in ’sick’ on Thursday). But, in case things don’t go our way, we need four more points to gurantee qualification. 13 might get us there, 14 definitely will.

Actually, correct me if I’m wrong, if Australia beat Uzbekistan on Wednesday and Bahrain and Qatar draw, the standings will then be:

13 Australia
11 Japan
5 Qatar
5 Bahrain
4 Uzbeksitan

with Qatar, Bahrain, and Uzbekistan having played 6 and with only SIX points to fight over. That would make Australia the first non-host team in the world to qualify for South Africa 2010
