Can’t think of a snappy title

Sorry for the delay in posting, I had a massive project to complete for my paying job and a major IT disaster at my house that crippled my ability to play A-League catch up. Also, my beloved Major League Soccer team, Chivas USA, (hereafter lovingly referred to as Baby Chivas) lost one of their best players AND a home game for the first time this season. I was crushed, and, uh, I’m embarrased to say… it took me a few days to recover. But this blog is about the Socceroos so its time for me to switch gears and focus on a different continent entirely. If you haven’t already guessed, I’m a California native (who just happened to grow up with an Aussie family) so It’d be ridic not to mention that according to “Dr Leather” on bigsoccer, our Governator just signed the bill to lift the ban on kangaroo leather. Although, I can’t seem to find a news article that confirms this but who am I to dispute a person with such an awesome name? Also, I’d like to add that my very young self was attacked by a kangaroo once at the zoo while visiting family in Australia so I don’t have any sort of cute, sentimental attachment to the animals and Dr Leather says “the harvesting of kangaroos is a necessary thing here in Australia as controlled by the RSPCA and the various Governments within the different states, and that the leather is a true by-product.” Ok, the little buggers end their lives in a humane manner, the rest of us can sleep soundly at night, and David Beckham can finally wear his favorite shoes on the pitch. Hurrah.
