Who is Brad Jones?
Many people have never heard of Brad Jones. Well now they have. He is the young Australian goalkeeper at Middlesbrough in the EPL, who is second to fellow Aussie Mark Schwarzer in the goalkeeping pecking order. He is a Perth boy. Last night he saved a penalty against Manchester United. This saved the game for Boro and ment a 0-0 draw.
United were furious. Brad prevented United from getting a valubale 3 points they need to gain the second automatic Champions League spot. Haha.
His performances of late have been outstanding. Whenever he has filled in for Schwarzer this season he has been fantastic. He is one to watch for the future.
Look out for him in Hiddinks World Cup squad. I will be extremely suprised if he doesn’t make it.
There is some info on him here

He made a great save on Ronaldinho’s penalty this morning. I think you could slot him in the squad behind Schwarzer and Kalac - especially if Schwarzer’s fitness isn’t 100% by the time the tournament is around…. Will be interesting though I Schwarzer doesn’t make it for the UEFA cup then maybe we can see how he performs on the big stage.

Just a correction: Brad is a Perth boy, born and bred. He’s my brother so I know. I enjoyed your comments though!

My apologies. When I was reading up on him it said Armadale, so being a Victorian myself I assumed it was Armadale in Melbourne ![]()
