Where Will You Watch Brazil?

June 17th, 2006 | By: Matt | 23 Comments »

With many claiming the Brazil game on Sunday night being the biggest match in this country’s football history, a crucial viewing spot is a must. Unfortunately, with the match kicking off at 2am and finishing at 4am, I will be unable to get out on the town and to Federation Square (Melbourne) as I would have liked due to an exam at 9am. The fact that there are around 10,000 supporters expected to flood the city makes me especially envious. Sadly I will be stuck at home watching the game.

Where will you be watching the Brazil game from and in what city?

Biggest match in Australia’s history perhaps, what there is of it. From a long-time Brasilian fan’s perspective, this one doesn’t even show on any radar screen. It is just another match, means virtually nothing, and Brasil will cakewalk through it. I will watch it in the comfort of a winderful living room able to feast on whatever I desire…and ‘roo meat will only be served on the pitch.

At home, and if Australia wins or draws everyone in the street will have an early alarm call.

Maybe brazil’s been eating abit too much cake lately. Thats why Ronaldo’s looking like Michelin man’s long lost twin brother.

Hi all….. I would love to be at the stadium also, but I am too poor, currently, so must be content with the living room tv. At least, i can watch it normal hours…
Good to here in Frankfurt, Germany. You can feel the excitement here… The football is big here. It would be nice if Australians realised which is the better sport (not rugby) and gave football (soccer) more support. Hopefully the interest doesnt die off simply due to a loss in the world cup. I am Australian, and would love to see it more popular when i get back home in a year or so to Sydney.
But for tomorrow, …. I will be watching the croatia-Japan match just as intently as the australian match…. much hangs upon that result!!!!
Back to work now…
Aussie Aussie Aussie!!!

I’ll be watching also in the lounge room Atlanta, GA USA.

Would be a good fathers day if we get one point. Three would be a dream!

Be watching the Croatia-Japan game first. This will be an important game.

To those who are lucky enough to be watching the game live in the stadium (like AK)…..bastards.

As M&R say….Go Australia!

I wish I could be there, shouting:

Guys from Downunder
Bring on the Thunder

Better still, shouting the song celebrating Australia’s historic win against Japan.

Guys from Downunder
Bring on the Thunder

Japs kick it hard, and
Ref makes a blunder
Guys from Downunder
Bring on the Thunder

Trained ‘em hard to win
Guussy mad with anger
Guys from Downunder
Bring on the Thunder

Kick it left, kick it right
Timmy, kick not asunder
Guys from Downunder
Bring on the Thunder

Aloisi not too far
He can do wonder
Guys from Downunder
Bring on the Thunder

Brazzy boys beatable
Aussies make’em shudder
Guys from Downunder
Make biggest Thunder

yeah yeah yeah! I’ll be spending the Japan/Croatia game wandering around Hong Kong looking for a good place to watch the game and then hopefully settle in with some other Aussies to watch it on a big screen surrounded by beer.

Watching football without beer is like driving a car without tyres.

Not possible.

In Sydney, either at one of the live sites, probably around the Opera House or at Central Station, will be quite to very cold at 2am though…hoping for a good result, but in comparison to the Brazil-Croatia game Australia-Japan was a srappy affair. Hopefully Australia rise to the challenge..we normally do on the world stage so I’m optimistic…great team spirit…go the Seocswocs…

1:40 am AEST and I am stuck in the TV room waiting for the exciting game to kick off. I had enough of the SBS commentary though but still grateful for their full coverage of Germany 2006.

Like many of you, I am too in the middle of my exam period which should end soon. Thankfully though it is not today.

Tim Cahill, Mile Sterjovski and Tony Popovic will start alongside
Moore and Grella, who has one yellow card each.

Cross your fingers really tight guys and pray that Timmy might give us his magic touch today.
