Song For The Socceroos – Final 5

April 22nd, 2006 | By: Vlado | 9 Comments »

The Trini fans are unhappy with their ‘official’ T&T World Cup song, but having heard it I’d have to say that theirs is MUCH better than any of the finalist in SBS’s Song For The Socceroos competition.

But let’s look at the positives for the Socceroos song:

  1. At least the best 5 songs of the 12 finalists (there had to be better in the 700+ entries that didn’t make the final 12, but I guess we’ll never know) have made it to the viewer voting stage… can’t wait for those ring tones to become available.

  2. Whichever song wins will be better than the song England has as it’s offical theme.

Do people in Australia care as much about all this as they do in England? Seems the Brits are really concerned about having a proper song.

No… we don’t have the same Eurovision culture that the Brits have.

However, if the Brits care so much about having a ‘proper song’, why do they continue to pump out such rubbish?

That´s not the most difficultest thing one can do ;-)

i only heard the first week’s songs and didnt really think much of them. and judging by the comments i have just read ive not missed very much. however the song the nerds were singing last night 29/4 has got heaps of potential as a song for singing in the pubs and stands in germany. but some of it needs a bit of a tweak. this is the words i’ll be singing while im there.
We, we’ll make some history.
we’ll get on the piss and be, blitzed at every game.
we’re the aussies.
