Socceroos Still at 32
Australia remains the 32nd football nation in the world according to this month’s FIFA rankings. Having played just a single game since the release of last month’s rankings, our win over Uzbekistan in the World Cup Qualifier didn’t warrant enough points to push us higher up the ladder.
The Green and Gold remain the highest ranked Asian team, followed by Japan (35) and South Korea (45), while the recent poor performances of the Iranians have seen them take a nose dive of 11 positions to 53.
The top of the ladder remains relatively unchanged, with Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands still occupying the podium positions, while Brazil and Italy have swapped places. Argentina hold on to sixth place, despite being pummelled 1-6 by Bolivia in their last match.
