Lesson Time with Aime Jacquet
He won a World Cup with France and apparently that is more than enough reason for Aime Jacquet to lecture Australia about how it will fail this summer in Germany.
Said Jacquet: “The Socceroos need more experience on the international scene and that’s why the World Cup is going to help you. You will discover what level of football you (Australia) need to get to. The World Cup will be a reference point for Australia.”
How nice of Jacquet to spend his time talking with the poor little ignorant football heathens in Australia. It is heartwarming to know that after we get our heads kicked in during the World Cup it will all be part of a great learning experience. I wonder if Jacquet would have said the same thing before the match with Uruguay, a nation that clearly is technically superior to our plucky little minnow Socceroos and one where our loss would have been a great learning experience too.
Of course, Jacquet does have an idea about how we can become a great nation like France, “And the confrontation with European teams does not happen often enough. There is also a lack of experience in this area.”
Somehow you could see that one coming, couldn’t you?
