I was fairly right!
We now know who will be leading the charge for the Green and Gold in Germany. My question is, do you think we have got it pretty much right?. A few days earlier I put together who I would expect to be named in the squad.
Goalkeepers
- Schwarzer, Kalac, Jones (more hopeful than realistic)
Defenders
- Moore, Neill, Popovic, Vidmar (exception), Beauchamp, Milicevic, Lazaridis
Midfielders
- Bresciano, Grella, Skoko, Chipperfield, Culina, Cahill, Wilkshire, Emerton, Elrich
Forwards
- Viduka, Aloisi, Thompson, Kewell
There were a few suprises as we know, but again I express my disappointment at not seeing Brad Jones in the squad. I think we have lost him now based on his comments a few days ago.
As for Josh Kennedy, Mark Milligan, and Mile Sterjovski, they were the main shocks.
We saw Sterjovski last in the Confed. Cup and he has been playing well over in Switzerland at Chipperfield’s club FC Basel. As for Josh Kennedy and Mark Milligan, no one knows a great deal about them as little has been said. Beauchamp was also a suprise but then again we all sorta had a feeling he was going to be included.
Look out in the next few days for profiles on our newest members, Milligan, Kennedy, and Beauchamp. I’ll post some info about them so people can get to know them.

Man, have you seen the UEFA-Cup final? Somebody tell Schwarzer that he need sto stretch out his arms BEFORE the WC begins. That dude needs some special training…

I saw a bit of it. The game was at 4.30am here so I only caught the last part of it. I saw two of the goals and neither looked like Schwarzers fault. Maybe his face was causing his problems wearing that mask.
