From the negative comes the postive. Admittedly what Kewell did was against the rules fo the game, but he is human and his patience with the antics of Merk had reached boiling point. Merk, on the other hand, also lost it. He forgot he was the referee and had the power to red-card Kewell on the spot. Instead, Merk reacted in the same manner as Kewell, but worse by saying to Kewell it was the end of his World Cup appearance, therefore pre-empting FIFA's disciplinary committee.
