Frustrated Kisnorbo Waiting for Aussie Call

January 16th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | No Comments »

Leicester City midfielder Patrick Kisnorbo is hoping that someone out there is listening to him.

Kisnorbo is eager to show his skills for Australia at the Asian Cup in February, but on a Socceroos team that is loaded at his position the call he is waiting for may never come.

“It’s hurt being ignored for so long, especially not knowing why you’re not involved,” says Kisnorbo.â€?

One reason he might not be involved is because of his past actions. In addition to getting sent off against the Solomon Islands the last time he made a national team appearance, he bailed on the Olympic team because he was afraid it would jeopardize his chances with his former team Hearts. Choosing club over country will rarely win you many points with your soccer federation.

Kisnorbo is a talented player who would love to have a chance to shine on the world’s biggest stage. But does he want to shine to help Australia or does he want to shine to help himself?

Perhaps that is why he has yet to receive the call.
