i can digest it, if you read my comments you will see that i’ve congratulated your team. i think italy played great. why dont YOU digest it and go celebrate like a normal person. i also bet you wouldnt call me a ’stupid ideot’ (i assume you meant ‘idiot’) to my face - that in itself would render you dead three times before you hit the ground (in a matter of speaking) - however you are entitled to your opinion, no matter how un-informed you appear to be. Knowing a lot about a sport does not make you intelligent persae, it simply makes you ’savvy’.

NO WAY WAS THAT A PENALTY FROM LUCAS NEIL IN THE AUST vs ITALY GAME!!!! even the Italians agreed! i was talking 2 my dad about it (Harry Kewell)he said he was distraught and no way a penalty. As he was talking the italians they agreed but the italians stated ‘this stuff happens’.

OMG! give me a break. Italy are the best! get over yourselves italy fans, you only reached the final because of the 2 worst kinds of cheating there is, diving: Grosso(and plz, dont try and say he didn’t. Stevie Wonder would see that dive) and the worst officiating i’ve ever seen. Enormously biased decisions on fouls, eg. the Brazil game 23 to 9. Yes some dicisions went our way, tim cahill against japan, but this world cup proved once again you cant rely on the “rules” applying to both teams and that the little country cant get the decision against the bigger one. We should’ve won the Italy game cuz of their red card and 3 subs. why hiddink didnt use some subs, apart from aloisi, is behond me. but never proper, never gain, we;ve gained world wide aclaim as a good footballing nation who was robbed.

If you want to blame anyone for Australia losing out in the World Cup, blame the ref. There were many decisions that didn’t go Australias way during the game, including a goal, which if counted would have changed the game entirely, though perhaps not the final result.

IF Grosso took a dive, the ref should have carded him, but the refs were making calls in the favour of the regular cup teams during the whole cup, not just against Australia.

So Australia, if you wanna whinge like pom about anything, whinge about the ref bias during the cup against the not-so-frequently-appearing-in-the-world-cup teams.

Drummer Dave, are you serious? You can’t be.

If I recall during the game Materazzi was unfairly redcarded. Even though Italy was undermanned they were never in danger of loosing the game.

Was that a penaly against Neill …..YES YES and YES….watch the video replay, the ref was right there. It wasn’t a call that could have gone either way It was a penalty.

Big clubs get all the calls? Do you remember World Cup 2002? The brutal call made against Spain and Italy by referees who I wouldn’t want at a kids game.

Australia had a great WC and leave it at that. They are a good developing team but are not in the class of Europes and S. America’s elite clubs.

i get wat u mean drummer dave and 4 but australia will be appearing in manyy more world cups for years to come so u betta watch out caz we are a gud nation becoming great at football. The weather is hot over here wat about over there. If the referees cant make the right decisions in future games they should get someone who actually knows what they are doing like that reff that looked lika an alien cannot remember his name but if u watched football games you wuld remember him. they should get some more reffs like him thats all 4 now gudbye.

Okay Socceroos Fan that comment was completly unessasary, I am an Italian Australian although i was born here italy runs through my veins im proud to be both Australian and Italian however in this situation i have to say that they did deserve to win the honour of being world champions as they are clearly, they did not cheat their way there nor did they win it on pure luck i love the socceroos however when it came to playing against italy all i can say is may the best team win i went for both teams and could barely even watch the game as i could see both points of veiw and would support which ever team that went through regardless and i would also like to point out that it was hard for us ‘italian australians’ to just drop all our cultural identity which we have shared with the rest of our country Australia as for the past 30 odd years we have supported italy in the world cup and Australia has not been in it for that long even Marco Bresciano a socceroo himself supported italy in previous world cups another thing i don’t appreciate being called a wog, and next time u sit down to enjoy pizza just think about where it came from. As for the next four years complain all you want but the azzurri will still be the champions of the world.

Sorry to tell you but Australia has no depth or game plan. Passing the ball around aimlessly and hoping for the best isn’t the best course of action. Croatia should have advanced out of that group, they are the better team hands down. Italy played aweful in that game and Australia couldn’t put them away. The Ukraine would have destroyed you anyway and than Germany would have been in yet another WC final…boring.
