Australia was simply outplayed - Brazil put on a 70% effort and you still lost and that is indicative of the Socceroo's strength, not good enough to beat a brazilian team operating way below full throttle. Its good the author of the article reminded us of the Socceroos vs. Solomon Islands game where we played out hearts out and lost to a more technically stronger opponent. Same situation against the brazilians but now socceroos was on the recieving end. Had they been operating on 90% as against the Japanese, Schwarzer would be collecting the ball from behind the goal posts more often. However, congratulations to the Socceroos - maybe next time, this time you were simply not good enough to beat the very best in the world.

Magic G> You could be right. We seem to be a little light on the finishing front and I am really hoping that our man in charge decides to put on 3 strikers....Aussies have a well rounded team but I think your defense we can beat...but can we finish?

I think quite a few can and do know what offside is Shane, fifa have changed the laws since the last worldcup so some individuals who might not follow soccer that much, might be confused as the passive offside feature does apply on occasions which states that as long as the player who is offside is not involved within the play then the goal will count.

I think the best indication of the passive offside law was one of the american goals or non-goals against Italy where there was a player from the US in front of the last Italian defender, and the USA striker, struck a goal past the goalie but only after it went thru the legs of that man who was offside thereby NO GOAL but however if he had've been near the post somewhere and not had the ball go thru his legs or not affected the play in any manner it would've been a GOAL and the US would've won with 9 men lol who would've thought that?

Anyway as for ur lebanon comment the day that lebanon beat australia in anything,is the day that Israel wipeout lebanon from the face of the earth so you might just want to mark that down in ur calender somewhere k ;) hehe stick to ur kebabs, ur world ranking of 122 shows u've been eating way too many of those, when was the last time lebanon made the WC? Thats right NEVER so maybe when u get to a WC which will be NEVER u can start crappin on until then keep an eye out for those missiles :)

this is getting out of hand. the socceroos have always been supported. but this is the first time a majority of soccer fans in australia have had good exposure to australian soccer. there is always room for more fans. for all those people who say are jumping on the band wagon. thats insulting. because i see band wagon jumping as switching teams from bad to good. that sort of thing. there is nothing wrong in supporting australia. sure some opinions are uneducated but that is just passion talking. every country even brazil would have there supporters who know nothing about soccer. so all those people who want to slag aussie soccer suporters, get a life its only a game. australia is the new team on the block and it scares alot of traditionalists that australia can become a top 10 soccer nation. my prediction is that the socceroos will win a world cup. its when and how soon is the question. but it will take probably two world cups for the effect of australia being in this world cup to take hold. lets hope australia can handle the rush on kids wanting to play soccer. and new clubs are formed to help improve australian soccer. eventually the a league will fill stadiums like aami stadium in adelaide 45,000 plus. world get used to aussie soccer.

Soze.. it's about time your stikers started striking... but think the final score will be
Australia 2 - Crotia 0 and that the Croations will leave the world cup goaless!
