I definantley agree with Mitch. Cahill seems to enough for us just watch out and see if he bobs up with 2 or 3

I am only new to soccer but i agree with martin. I think our midfield is good enough to get the ball enough times down to Cahill/Viduka so we can score. After the 1 - 1 draw with the Netherlands i think we have prooved good enough to do something in this cup and definantley make 2nd round

I'd like to see two strikers as we have some quality upfront. However, as Martin mentioned, it is difficult to do this without losing shape. Grella is going to play a vital role in the central midfield and i'm not sure who else would be able to fill his role if something unfortunate was to happen.

Kewell wide should be entertaining as he has that uncanny ability to beat players 1 on 1...hopefully the Duke/Cahill will latch onto some of those crosses.

I think that formation does give us options, which we will need against the Croatian and Brazilian defences in particular.

Surprising as it is, i'm concerned more so about our defence against a counter (pace)Even though we haven't conceded in the last couple of games, we tend to get opened up on the break. I think the match against Netherlands will be a great test to guage where we're at.

All depends on Hiddink's strategy and formation (4-5-1, 3-5-2, 4-4-2).

With our strongest point being the midfield, you would have to have 5 guys. They would have to be Grella, Culina, Cahill Bresciano (wide right) and Kewell (wide left). I would use Emerton and Chippers at wing backs (Moore and Neil centre backs). That would leave Dukes up front by himself.

I would like to see Guus put Dukes and Aloisi in the starting line-up for one of the last two freindly games just to see how they go together, but by doing that, I think you lose shape everywhere else. this is unfortunate for Aloisi, as I think he is a great goal poacher, but Dukes has a little more quality overall.

With just Dukes up front, we still have goals written all over the midfield, and even the wing backs could chip in with goals. If things go a little pear shaped, you still have Alosis, Skoko, Archie or the new boy Kennedy (haven't seen him play).

Our attack should not be a problem, just the whole defensive structure which Guus needs to iron out before the WC.
