Australia Nike World Cup Kits Revealed

February 14th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | 7 Comments »

Now we know what the Socceroos uniforms will look like this summer in Germany. I kind of like these except for the badge. Seems a bit cartoonish to me. Otherwise this is a vast improvement over previous renditions.

the new nike jerseys are crap. i like the old one’s much better. the whole attempt of “retro” has failed. They should just wear the jerseys they did in 1974!

I agree, these jerseys are really bad, if they can gain a sponser like nike, the kits could be way more outstanding. These kits look cheap and unprofesional! Especially bad is the badge.

I also agree guys, im from scotland and i have family in Australia and was wanting to buy one of the kits home or away, but the nike designs and numbers on the shirt is dissapointing. I also hate the logo, very cheap for a 40 quid shirt.

As an employee of Supports Box (Australia’s online soccer store), I also was very disappointed when we received stock of the Australian WC06 jerseys. The crest should at least have been embroided and not printed, it does make it look cheap. And the soccer ball in the middle of the crest was a bad idea.

Well done to adidas and their design team, I think they have come up with the best quality looking kits for this World Cup. Although, after seeing many jerseys and styles made by different vendors, I wish Reebok would sponsor some national teams, the quality of the A-League jerseys are top notch, can’t beat the Chinese clothing manufacturers!

The picture above does not have the football in the crest. But the jerseys we can buy do. Why is that? Also the away jerseys I’ve seen to buy do not have the football in the crest. Are they embroidered, or printed?

And the great big Federation star up there makes it look like we’ve actually won a World Cup :)
