Australia beat Bahrain 3-1 in Asian Cup
February 22nd, 2006 | By: WC Bob | No Comments »
Three second half goals gave Australia a 3-1 win over Bahrain in the opening match of the Asian Cup in Manama. The Socceroos fielded a young team and they looked a bit scared during the first half. The nerves were evident when Bahrain’s Husain Ali scored in the 35th minutes. After the half, a better Australia team appeared and saw goals by Archie Thompson, Joesp Skoko and Ahmad Elrich.
Hard to take much away from this one other than to say that the future for Australia does look bright and that Archie Thompson is my personal God.
